The Industrial Education Unit was the first workshop of its kind in Britain and established by PRA in 1962 in conjunction with Hackney Social Services. It serves a multi-cultural community both as a rehabilitative and as an occupational resource for the recovering mentally ill.
The Industrial Education Unit manufactures custom-built profile seating and supplies a unique material of soft transparent film with a rubber-like elasticity, extreme elongation and very high values in tear propagation strength and abrasion resistance. In addition, the Unit produces a wide range of PVC folders for commerce and an assembly and packing service including buckle production for the fashion trade.
